Hi

Are u taking the offline backup on disk or tape. Your log seems to be mentioning it to be on tape. Anyways, have you set the /oracle/SID/102_64/dbs/initSID.sap file parameters accordingly. Also the log says that there has been a user intervention to stop the backup. Did you press Cntrl C in the process. Offline backups to tape is a bit tricky aand even we are fighting on this. I would suggest taking it on disk and then transferring it to tape.

Hi Lokesh ,

We are taking offline backup thru DB13 regularly from long back without having any problem.

Yesterday we face this problem and unable to find out the error.

There is no way for cancellation thru Cntrl+C as this is scheduled from DB13 at 03:00:00 hrs.

Dear Santanu

Please check the initSID.sap file for any cahnge of parameter. Also try shutting and starting up the database manually to check for any errors. Also check if everything is being done as it used to be done earlier. Has someone changed some file or parameter. Is the backup being taken up on tape or disk.

Hi

We are taking backup on tape. init<sid>.sap file not modified .

I found one thing sapbackup filesystem was 92% full. I clear that filesystem.

I cannot check database shut and start now as this is a production server.

Hi, are you trying to read Note 618861 - Composite SAP Note: ORA-01013 ?

Check 5 -->

As of Oracle 9i, if a shutdown takes longer than an hour, it is terminated with an ORA-01013 error (refer to Oracle Bug 2850797).

Regards.
