Hi Gurus,
We are running MDM 5.5 SP6 (5.5.63.80)
Two weeks ago our Server and repository started to slow down and give us problems. We don't see any particular problems or reasons for these problems, except for the disk space being low. The memory is almost not used, the page file is OK, CPU is used 40% by the MDS service, etc.
Sometimes the server is fine and responds well, 10 minutes later it's very slow and sometimes locks out all the users. Even when trying to login through the Console we all get:
ERROR: Access to synchronization data is locked for master repository
We'll allocate more disk space for the server, but I'm not sure if that's the only problem.
Has any of you experienced any problems similar to what I described?
Thanks in advance for sharing
Boris
Hi Boris,
We have seen that the server will be slow if there are huge amount of records.
Please trace back if you have enabled any options in MDS.ini file from past 10
days. This configuration change might also slow down the server.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Pramod

Thank you all for your help in that issue. Freeing the disk space and cleaning up all the connections are the two major things that solved the issue. The server is now back to normal, responsive and operational.
Best regards,
Boris

Hi and thanks to all of you, who replied to this thread in attempt to help.
I appreciate your input and we'll try all of the suggested solutions above, starting with the disk space cleanup and restarting the DB server.
Best regards,
Boris

HI,
Just try to restart your Listner services which is associated with MDM Connection. I guess Basis can help you on this.
Hope it helps.

Hi Boris,
ERROR: Access to synchronization data is locked for master repository
This errors occurs due to Memory load problem.
This also cause the MDM server to suddenly get stopped and needs to be restarted.
Increase the Disk and MDM memory space for immediate results also try restarting your DBMS server.

HI Boris,
We had faced the same problem.
Ask your Basis team to stop and restart the database server.
The problem is due to the high memory load, which affects the performance due to which it hangs.
Hope it helps.

Minaz

Hi Boris,
Disk Space has a huge impact on smooth functioning of MDM. If the disk space is not enough MDM Server cannot even load the repositories and as you have mentioned that for sometime it works properly then its performance starts degrading this is because for every activity it logs the information and hence again occupy disk space.
Try to free some space and then check the performance, it should work well.
