Dear all,

Please confirm the following :

"brsapace -k only" can be used online.

I mean if we run this command the database will be offline or online.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Santanu

You may run brbackup -k only online or offline; your choice.

By default, backup_type from profile init<SID>.sap is used.

To be sure, you may also start it like this:

brbackup -k only -t online

brbackup -k only -t offline

Hello,

I could find neither brspace -k nor brsapace -k only.

So I guessed that it should have been brbackup -k only.

Not sure about that though....

And by the way, Santanu,

next time could you please use a more descriptive topic?

regards

Hi

Sorry for that.

It is "brbackup -k only" and the "-t online" option is what i was looking for.

Thank you Joe

Run the command brbackup -help. This will display all the options with short description.

-k option is for compression

-t online will take the backup in online mode itself and will not shutdown the database.

brspace -k command is something i could not find in my ECC6.0 installation. However, I could run brspace in online mode as it onle displays information regarding database and instance.
