Flat Map Output file structure

Hello MDM guru's,

We use flat format in our repositories, I have a problem here. one of the Repsoitory of QA system syndicates different output structure compared to other environments ( DEV & PRD).

tired by changing maps, archive repository. How to change the structure of output file (incase of flat files).

Could you guys please guide me.

Hi Srihari,

Can you explain your problem in a little more detail?

As far as i can understand ,when you work with Flat syydication,you need to manully create your destination items that you wish to syndicate and map them with your rep fields.

In what way is your map changing and what problems are you exactly facing while migrating from one server to the other?

Hi Simona,

We use Excel sheet & import data (one-time Import) via import manager & syndicate records automatically to other ERP.

While syndicating - output structure of the Flat file (using Pipe-delimeters) comes diffrent in our QA system.

When records are blank or end of the record, need to have a pipe seperator indicating the last record, however its good in DEV & PRD.

I tried ( creating new maps, using maps from DEV, archived the Repository of Dev & and use in it QA) tried all the tricks. Still don't see any change.

Could you please guide me

Hi Sri,

Did u check Map Properties Tab in syndicator?

What is the value in Item Delimiter Property?

Is it same for Dev & QA?

Try to change it again & then save the Map.

Also check whether other properties in Map Properties Tab are same for Dev & QA

Hi,

I'm using Pipe - delimeter, the value in item delimeter is " | " in all DEV, QA & PRD.

I'm getting Pipe in output, however the last value in the record does not have pipe.

Reason- We need to have pipe showing its end of record. If we have data in last field then no problem, when no data then it shoud show it as end of record with pipe symbol.

Please gudie me.

How u r getting | at the end of record in Dev & Prod? (When u hv value in last field)

Bcoz if u set | as delimiter then it doesn't come at the record end.

Hi Srihari,

Check the map properties.

Item format : Variable Width

Item Delimeter : | (Pipe)

If you could explain the problem with the settings done from your side with an example, it could be more helpful to understand the problem.

Hi Guru's,

I did same setting as of in DEV & QA & PRD in syndicator.

Please find the data format syndicated below:

Wrong Data

019S|1530|MACHINERY & EQUIPMENT|1590|UNKNOWN|FA005|Fixed Assets (CAPEX) - Plactic Injection Machine|TRUE|FALSE

Correct Data

020S|1530|MACHINERY & EQUIPMENT|156011|UNKNOWN|FA006|Fixed Assets (CAPEX) - Hard Tooling Equipment|FALSE|FALSE|

And we have a small box like symbol showing the end of records, which i'm not able to paste in my reply.

If any one tell me how to cut & paste screen shots may be i can show you excatly.

Hi Srihari,

Small box like symbol is a New Line charachter.

R u sure u hv done nothing else to create Pipeline character (|) at end of record?

Plz check if there is any Custom field in Custom Items Tab of Syndicator for holding |

Hi,

I guess you wont get | in the end whether the last field has data.

Try this-

create a custom item and define | in its formula or leave it blank.

Now map this field to destination.

Yup, i understand that box is start of new line. However its missing in output structure of QA.

Don't have any Custom fields in CUSTOM TAB for DEV & PRD.

How do i create a ' | ' in custom tab, as don't see any option for creation symbols. Could you guys help me out please.

Hi,

Then plz check how | is coming at the Record End for Dev & Prod.

How do i create a ' | ' in custom tab.

Go to Custom Items Tab.

Create a new custom field.Now in Formula field Type | directly.

This custom field will come at last on source side
