Renaming a file in Sender channel

Former Member

Hi, a newbie here.

I have to pick up a file via ftp from a system and put it into an R3. I have also to rename the file in the sender with another extension for backup.

Is there any way to do this without creating another communication channel?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Inaki,

no, you dont a second file adapter. You can archive it with a timestamp during sending.

You could try adding command line rename...

Hi Ifiaki,

If you are on SP15 or later, you can run Operating System Command Before Message Processing.

See the details at the below link.

We add an archive stamp (time and date) and move the file from inbound folder to an inboundarchive folder after is has been processed into R/3 (Processing Mode, archive).

The inboundarchive folder is then backed up.
