We are planning to use SAP MDM 7.1 in our landscape. This is a new
implementation having SAP ERP 6.0 / EHS, SAP Portal 7.0 and SAP PI7.1.
Also I would like to know if there are any reasons why we should use
MDM 5.5 vs MDM 7.1.
Your recommendation and advice is highly appreciated.

Hi Venkat,
If you compare MDM 5.5 with MDM 7.1 .There are a lot of changes right from the Look and feel of MDM 7.1 to the feature enhancement.
One of the major develpoment in the 7.1 release of MDM is the improvements done in the Data modelling area in the MDM repository.
Kindly refer the below link to understand the Data modelling advancement with the MDM 7.1 version:
Also know more on the print publishing feature of the MDM 7.1 through the below link:

Main table can use the same look up tables.
New data typee Tuple intoduced.
Enhanced Transport mechanism(Change Transport system)
Enhanced JAVA,ABAP and .NET APIs

Hi Venkat,
Since MDM is introduced recently, SAP MDM 5.5 has the features which may not satisfy the expectations and MDM 7.1 has many additional features which are required in almost all the businesses.
Check the below link for additional features of MDM 7.1 as compare to MDM 5.5.
Note : MDM 7.1 is still in a Ramp-Up Stage.
