MI data lost

Former Member

Hi all,

I'm working with MI 7.0 SP 15 and DB2e 8.24. An employee has synchronized 2 Orders created through MSR application on his PDA. The first one has been processed successfully, the last one (having about 27 items) appears on his pda in "Sent" Status but I cannot find it in merep_mon transaction: into Inbound Worklist I see only the first Order (syncBO MSR20_02) that was been correctly processed but the second one appears with 0 records: related data seems disappeared. How / where Can I retrieve these data lost?

Thanks,

Maria

Dear Maria,

Changes in data on PDA sometimes takes time\requires 2-3 more syncs to get reflected on merep_mon.

Please sync 4-5 times more to see,is the status for that order is getting changed on merep_mon or not?

One more thing, are you also checking processing of orders at the backend system?

Hope the reply is helpful.

Regards,

Abhi

Hello Maria,

1. I noticed in your post that you are using DB2E 8.2.4 with MI 7.0 SP 15. Please check this SAP Note 677476 (point number 8). As per this note SAP clearly says that with MI 7.0 SP 14 and higher DB2E 9.1.2 should be used.

2. Please set your client trace level to "ALL" and the middleware trace level to "debug" and check the trace. You might find more information.

3. The records have to leave the mobile device after a couple of syncs if you are in the "Asynchronous" mode.

4. If the records are lost in the client you will be able to see some exception in the client trace. Other wise the records should be listed in the middleware monitor. The middleware trace might give you more information.

Hope these pointers help.

Dilip

Hi Dilip,

thanks for your prompt reply.

Client side I'm working with MI SP13 and I cannot reproduce this problem. The Order is still on PDA correctly saved with all its items and with status "Sent" but in the middleware I cannot find it because I still see the corresponding worklist with 0 record.

Can you check what is the status of this record? Is it in Local or Sync state?

Inbound Worklists (Handler)

Outbound Worklists (Sender)

This is situation in merep_mon, after that, other Orders have been created succesfully by the same user but the Order with seq.no 804 seems lost.

Hi Maria,

I think this might be a bug -my advice will be to open OSS message to SAP and open a connection for them to check.

Also, check MI composite note (relevant to your version is note 1137313)

https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1137313

to see if all "related notes" listed in it are applied to your server and if any of those notes has a similar symptom.

There are two patches already released for SP15 and your issue might have already been reported and fixed.

Dear Maria,

Do check upon the points Abhi has touched upon (number of syncs and the backend). Also check the trace file for any anomaly.

Thanks for your reply,

the synchronization has been executed more times but I still see in merep_mon the corresponding syncBO with status changed and 0 records. The Order has not been created in the backend system. Checking in merep_log transaction I found the following error:

29.01.2009 00:50:11 Unknown error

29.01.2009 00:50:11 <Dump>Nessun contesto sorgente valido indicato</Dump>

29.01.2009 00:50:11 Return code 7 (MEREP_INBOUND_GENERATE)

I fear this may happen again...
