What are pros and cons for using Java Web Dynpro over ABAP Web Dynpro
Hello Sameer,
pro's for Java: - Java is open source
- Java WebDynpros support more features (for example: FlashIslands
or blackberry integration)
- you can integrate third party systems easier
con's for Java: - you have to install a development environment (at least NWDS, better NWDI
with CE)
- in my opinion it is a little more complicate than the ABAP WebDynpros
pro's for ABAP: - all you need for developing ABAP WebDynpros is already included in SE80
- you can use the ABAP Dictionary for your datatypes as you are used to do it
- the WebDynpros are easy to maintenance
con's for ABAP: - many features are not supported by ABAP WebDynpros
- some customers don't want ABAP WebDynpros
But if you have already learned developing ABAP WebDynpros you can teach yourself very fast to develop Java WebDynpros. Converse it is the same.
So I would recommend to start with WebDynpros in the programming language you have more experience.

Iris

i think there is no direct answer to these question...because both the technology have there advantage and disadvanteges...it depends on the reqmnt...which one to use..
webdynpro java is used when application required user ineraction or some time when light appliaction is reqd...
