Hi,
I accessed the URL developed in webdynpro(7.0) on a PDA (IMATE 6150) and found that the UI screen is distorted.
Is there any settings to be done on the PDA browser for portal screen to be same alike in normal windows browser.
Through net i found it can be accessed through BlackBerry sucessfully.
Thanks
vijay
Dear Vijay,
Only Mobile Web DYnpro can be accessed properly on Mobile Phones like Blackberry / Windows Mobile PDAs. General Portal apps cannot be accessed, because the iview / UI scripting is totally dependant on the browsers' DOM (Document Object Model). I hope that answers your query.

Veera

Hi veera,
we want to give online solution to the customer.
Our understanding is to develop UI application in webdynpro and access it thru URL from the PDA browser directly.
In the current NWDS 7.0 in the Mobile perspective i am not able to see UI controls specific to MI.
Please suggest the necessary things.
Thanks,
vijay.

Hi Vijay,
have you added ?sap-wd-client=PieClient after ur url..
Try using http://----
<your applname>?sap-wd-client=PieClient
eg http://adresses:port/irj/portal/MyApp?sap-wd-client=Pie03Client if using WM 5.0
eg http://adresses:port/irj/portal/MyApp?sap-wd-client=PieClient if using Windows 2003

Dear Vijay,
To the end of the line
Regards,
Veera
Dear Vijay,
It is the same for Windows Mobile 5,6, 6.1.

Veera
Also please note that even though you can mention the client to WebDynpro, unless the App is developed with the restricted support of elements in Mobile Devices, you will have a rendering issue. Check the central link i gave you earlier thoroughly. It talks about that, gives links and also gives you the elements you can use for different mobile devices. The developement is not separate, only the UI components you use should be chosen according to the support as given in the link.
