Dear Experts,
Pls let us know what is the exact difference in db check and db verify activity.I would really thankful if anyone tell me the what would excalty work performed on database level by these two.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
DB Check means the DB is checked for information like when backups taken, backups failed, archives backed up,it shows tablespaces crossed 95%,oracle errors when writing data,Archiver Struck(i.e shows if archiver directory crossed 90% of its space) and missing statistics if any....so on
DB Verify Checks the Datafiles block by block for any corrupted Blocks.

In DBVerify only datafile can be verified. It checks the logical integrity of the database. It can't analyze online/archived redo log files. The DBVerify utility takes input of Start Block and End Block.
DBCheck utility is purely SAP based utility. This tool is not available in the stand alone oracle installation.
