Dear Experts...

As I understand the concept of

Header assigned networksu2026u2026.

Here is only one network header will be assigned at level one wbs

All the activities under one network header.

The costs will passed directly to the network header.

sales order or the project or network header as the cost object

networks activities are used only for detailing and scheduling purposes only.

Activity assigned network:u2026u2026.

Each WBS contains a separate network header

more options for structuring costs in the project.

each activity can be assigned to a different WBS element

activity is the cost object.

Plz correct me if im wrong

Regards

Chandra

Activity assigned network:u2026u2026.

Each WBS contains a separate network header

not necessarily...u can have one network assigned to root WBS

As activity becomes cost object in Activity assigned network u can have only one network with activities assigned to various WBS elements. If u want u can always create more networks.

U can refer Standard Project Turbine example (Project T-20000) in IDES Server. Here the Project is executed in 2 company codes. There are 2 networks for each company code. Here network is not created for each WBS elements.

In Project Definition under Control Data tab there is "Network asst." setting. Where u can mention whether Network is assigned to Project Definition or WBS element.

If u select WBS element, system wil create new network for each WBS element.

Let me know if you need further information.

Reset of ur understanding is correct.

One more example.... With network header assigned cost will be at the header and settled out of project from network header.. that means u can have settlement rule at network header..

IN activity assigned... actvities individually will have the settlement rule to settle it to the respective WBS...

Header assigned Network... all the planned, actual cost and commitment is stored in network header. It is useful to assign network to sales order instead of WBSE.

For Activity assignment , activities and activity element are account assignment object. cost is stored at activity level .

In activity assigned.....Cost of the activities will be collected by respective WBSE ...u need not to have separate Network for each WBSE...whereas in header assigned, cost of the activities wil be collected by respective network header....
