Unable to start Application server

Hi Teachies

Unable to start application server ,all the work process are in running state with semaphore 50

i have done cleanipc <instance no> remove and again i restarted the application server still the same issue

OS solaries

DB: informix

SAP 4.6B

Issue got resolved , I started the application after some time(1hr) it got started ,still i do not how it got resolved.

what does this semaphore 50 means in sap and why it starting the workprocess with user SAPSYS

Try rebooting the server.

Check SAP Note: 33873.

Can you please post the exact error you are facing, why you cleaned the IPC, did you stopped any server and then after its not coming up.

Firstly we have shutdown the application for OS activity for creating mount point(related to Business)

then we where trying to start the application all the work process are running with semaphore 50 , there no such error mesg ,just the work process are hang at running state with user SAPSYS

the i have shutdown the application and clean the ipc and again i restarted the app still the same issue

Reboot your Application server.

That will help.
