We want to install IDES ECC 6.0 for the basic modules MM/PP/SD/FICO.
The inst guides are damn confusing. Can someone please tell us which usage type to install?
Inst guides are present [here|https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700000297792008E/INS50SR3.htm#q1].
We dont think the Java stack is mandatory for this...kindly correct us if wrong.
Thanks

Java stack is optional and should only be installed if you are planning to use it.
There is no differentaition between modules when you are installing ECC 6.0 IDES. All modules will be present with sample data. You would also have certain functionalities pre-activated.

We have completed the installation of ECC 6.0 today.
After starting sapinst.exe we only selected the "ABAP stack" and "ECC 6.0".
This is enough for IDES installation for MM/SD/FICO on the ABAP stack (not sure about PP though, although we can see PP on the start menu).
Thanks to all those who responded.

Yes You are Right, Java stack is optional, if you want to go go with ABAP Stack only you can go, and for Module there is not any specific all comes in IDES.
Hope its helps
