Hi Subhash,

Logs in MDM are tables that store a report of the operations in MDM.It gives an status update of the activities performed in the MDM repository or on the MDM server.

There are basically 2 Main types of Logs:

- Server Logs

- Repository Logs

1)Server logs :Console->mount the server->The last table is the server log table.

This table stores all the information of the activities taking place at the server level in the server logs.Such as Urchieving/unarchiving rep,Mounting ,Starting server etc.

2)Repository Logs:Console>Repository>Admin->Reports

This table stores the list of activities that are performed on the repository level.Such as checking the repository,loading /unloading etc.

You also have another type of logs that come along with the importinga nd syndication activities.

Whenever you create a Port in MDM console either Inbound or outbound for importing or syndicating data from and to Remote system.The system generates along with Ready folder a Log folder as well.

This logs is used to track the importing and syndicating activities .

MDM server->Direction(Inbound/Outbound)>Remote system->Port->Logs Folder.

Hi Subhash,

MDM maintain logs at two level - Repository and Server.

Repository logs stores relevant information about specific repository and contains information about the oprations perfomed on the repository like Verify, Check, Duplicate etc and this log is availalbe as a child of Admin node of the repository with name Reports

For more information refer the below link

Repository Maintainance -> Other System Tables -> Reports Table

Server log stroes server-specific information and there will be only one Logs table per MDM server and is available as a Child of MDM Server (only when server is in running state). This log is further divided into Assertion, Audit, Server, Protocol and Transaction.

You can also track the changes made to the repository data by enabling the Change Tracking mechanism of MDM. Refer the below link
