Hi All,
I am faced with a tricky question. Java Stack on Netweaver. What does that exactly mean. If I want to learn, what is to be learnt? is it EP or Webdynpros in Java ? Any references will be highly appreciated.
Please suggest.
Hello,
to be correct it should properbly called NetWeaver Java Stack :).
That basically means a SAP Java engine (J2EE), simular to other J2EE Engines
but very specialised for SAP things, although mostly following standard industry guidlines.
You may then deploy (not install) Applications, like the SAP Portal on the J2EE Engine. In general the Java Stack is nothing else but a J2EE Engine though.
Nobody explains anymore what the Java Stack is in the new Versions of SAP Help, one is expected to know. So you have to go back in time and read the 620 docu, This might be helpful : [DOCU|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_webas620/helpdata/en/61/fc683ce6eb6046e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm].

You can use Netweaver JAVA to learn things related to SAP, such as SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio which offers full support when you develop large-scale Java projects and Webdynpro.
SAPu2019s is using Webdynpro for Java as a strategic tool to produces robust and highly scalable J2EE architecture applications. SAP is in the process of rewriting Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) applications using Webdynpro for Java. CRM 5.0 uses this functionality. Important SAP Portal applications like User and Role management transaction, Universal Work List (UWL) use Webdynpro for Java.
