How to allocate costs to wbs elements directly?

Hi ,

you can allocate cost through t-code CJ40 ( Cost Planning).

But it depends what type of cost you want to allocate , like :

Revenue Planning - CJ42

Budget Planning - CJ30 etc.

cj40 etc are planning transaction - not for allocating but planning

what do you mean by allocation - plan or actual

if it is actual as I think then . . . . .

set up WBS as cost object with account assignment indicator ticked

now you can post cost via

goods receipt

goods issue

CATS posting time

direct FI journal

internal activity allocation

overheads, assessment, etc

settlement

Hi,

Please check in Accounting --> controlling --> Activity based Costing --> Actual Postings

so many tcodes are there.

Hi,

requirement of our organization is that all the costs(material related, overhead, travel, expenses etc...) related to project should be put the top wbs.

any suggestions plz?

Hi Harsh,

You cant make header level as account assignement, so cant post cost directly at header level.

Incur cost at child level and maintain settlement rule there and make receiver header level WBSe and bring your cost at top.

Hi ,

thru F-47 u can post actual cost to the WBS as a financial entry. Before this WBS shuld be released.
