Selected Set for qualitative class characteristic

Hi gurus,

We have qualitative class characteristic for which characteristic values are already maintained.Now we are defining MICs same as class characteriastic and we want to assign class chartacteristics to MICs.

Now we want to assign selected set to class characteristic.But in class characteristic in VALUES tab OTHER VALUE CHECK pushbutton is in grey.Is it because for class characteristic values are already defined.Is it possible to assign selected sets to class characteristics, if values for class characteristics are already defined.

Hi Amit,

Unfortunately you are absolutely correct. It's gray there because it's already used. And you can't do anything regarding this.

One dangerous option is there,,,,

Delete the same from the relevant database table and then try to reassign it. It may work for you.

Hi Amit

If that Class characteristic created by you or exiting one you are trying to assign,

check that char -type Numeric or char - if it is numeric type you can't assign selected set.

If the data recorded or any batch created -- then it is very difficault because inconsistence will be the issue.

better to create new class char.

go to value tab - just click on addition value - you may get list - select selected set/catalogue code

then you can assign selected set for this class char.
