Hi all,
We are getting the SQL error 10054 in our sap bw systems.Please let me know what causes the error and what we can do prevent or solve it.
Platforms:win 2003 server,sqlsever 2005 and ecc5.

Try to ping the DB server from the SAP Server. See there is any network issue or not.
Forgot to mention one point.
Go to SQL Server Configuration Manager. Under SQL Native Client Configuration goto Client Protocols. Check Shared memory, TCP/IP and Named Pipes should be in order 1,2 and 3.

Can you look in system logs a bit and look what this error says actually
My guess is as Jared also says"SAP Note 392892" will solve the issue for sure if you drill down in the system logs of SAP system.
And let me assure u its not a very serious error to worry about as it is common in SQL server databases

Take a look at OSS Note 392892. It appears to have several fixes for this error that you are receiving. Hopefully you will find something pertinent.
