Alphanumeric EAN

My client is using ECC 6.0 Retail and WM

For the sole purpose of the DC, they would like to be able to scan and read alphanumeric product code. Some of their suppliers are using their parts number as a bar code (ex. 1ASD90). I reviewed the various notes in this Forum but I'm not clear if we can or not customize the EAN number range or attibutes to make it possible and flag these UPC as Additional EANS in the Article Master. I have tried different ways but never worked.

Any suggestions, recommendations?

Hi,

You can maintain the EAN number within the additional data in the material master data, besides you can maintain suppliers' part number at the item details in the PO or SA.
