Netweaver CI and application server on AIX & WINDOWS

Hi, We have our portal Central Instance (CI) on AIX. I need to add two more j2ee cluster nodes. Due to budget shortage can I buy Windows servers?

Is This supported. I will have issues with NFS mounts...etc using 3rd party softwares to mount AIX to Windows.

Is it recommended config?. I did not find any links in service.sap.com or help.sap.com related to this. If any one finds it, pls give me the link

Hi Srinivas, thanks for the info. I checked the notes, the note is for installing ABAP stack on the Windows application server

Note says --> Reason and Prerequisites :

You want to install an application server (dialog instance) on Windows in an ABAP configuration where the database and central instance are running on UNIX.

I am searching for a simillar note for j2ee cluster.

I think this note may be ok Note 1148109 - Heterogeneous Inst.(Appl. Server Windows, DB Unix)

Hi, I contacted SAP support by posting a message. SAP doest not support SAMBA for NFS between AIX and WINDOWS, Now we dropped the plan of hetrogenous. I am going with AIX.
