Activating rec/client parameter

Former Member

Hello All,

Good day.

Would just like to if what would be the impact in activating rec/client parameter? Would it be possible not activating this and be able to receive changes via email? What if I just wanted to track changes happened in T000 would be possible?

Note: this will be applied in the QAS system.

Hope to hear your response. Thank you.

Hai,

SAP recommends that automatic table change logging is authorized only in systems where this is really needed. Normally the following systems,

SAP System in which your Customizing is performed:

Production system

Logging is not allowed in a test system.

Setting the REC/CLIENT parameter to All can seriously impair SAP system performance. SAP recommends you do not use the value All. You should limit automatic logging to one client.

The default setting is OFF, i.e. no logging. This setting is only normal in the installation and test phase. Tables which are relevant for invoicing should be logged in production processing (national accountability requirements).

The changes in a table are only logged automatically if:

1) The system profile parameter rec/client = all or any cleint

2) Automatic change recording is active for the table.

You can log tables without activating thr rec/cleint by Table change logging.

All customizing tables are automatically recorded by default.

Yes, you can activate table logging for Table T000 as per the above document.

Please don't copy&paste from SAP Help...

The person has already stated that this is for a QAS system, so we should be able to assume (which is fair) that reading the SAP Help has been done before asking questions in the forum.

Cheers,
