Hi

First of all Welcome to SDN FORUM

Coming to your query , Generally if you maintain the plant in CMIR , CMR or in MMR then it gets copied into the sales order. But if you dont maintain in CMIR , CMR or in MMR then it wont get copied into the sales order but you have to enter manually. While manually also you can assign because in shipping point determination OVL2 you will be maintaining the delivering plant also

As in OVL2 , you will be maintaining shipping condition + Loading Group + Plant = Shipping point

So if you maintain the data in OVL2 then you will get your delivering plant and shipping point also and you can enter manually

Srinath

Hi

Plant is copied from CMIR of sold to party or CMR of ship to party or from MMR sales org data 1 where you will maintain delivering plant

If you dont maintain records in either of these three while creating sales order it will get struck as incompleted which was well said by the first friend

With plant only the shipping point is getting determined (in OVL2 delivering plant+shipping conditions and loading group taken from MMR)

That is why plant is a mandatory entry in any of the account group while creating customer master record in the sales area level shipping tab

In MM01 delivering plant is a mandatory entry if the material is for sales or if the material is created in sales org views in OMS9

In customization if you make these optional and dont maintain data ,sales order will get struck in the incompletion procedure

Note in sales order you can manually change to a absolutely different plant which is not specified in any of these master records and the process can absolutely go smooth provided if that plant's related settings are correct

So the manual entry has the priority

hI,

If you do not maintain plant in either cmr or mmr then system will ask you to input the plant while you save the sales document, plant is one of the incompletion parameter for saving the document, if you do not enter plant manually then system shall give you a warning stating document is incomplete, once you enter plant and complete the document then only you can save the document.

Hope this answers your query completely.
