Is /oracle/stage an NFS mounted directory?

Try:

chmod 777 /oracle/stage

I have tried as you have suggested , but still the same issue.

Yes it is NFS mounted directory.

This installation stopped at Phase 8 Install server database software, with the above error, i still didn't install oracle.

you probably have not set NFS authorizations properly.

check the installation guide to know how to setup NFS mount for /usr/sap/trans and apply the same for your NFS share.

Hi,

Please check the current owner of the /oracle/stage.Are you installing in typical mode? The correct file permission of your mentioned file should be

ora<sid> (user) & dba (group).

But Sapinst usually sets the file permission automatically.

How are you installing?

By inserting DVDs or did you download the s/w from market place?

Thanks and Regards,

Moulinath

HI,

Try this process with SID adm user. or try with #chown -R SIDadm:dba <dir path>

Hi,

jst look at your env variables again check again and the start your db as user oraadm then again start sap.

I think by doing this your problem will resolve.
