Is scheduling necessary, can't we put dates manually in networks and wbs?

scheduling is not necessary

it depends on the requirements

scheduling is an available functionality in SAP PS which you can use if required

Hi,

planned dates are automatically calculated by the system, this determination of the planned dates of networks is called scheduling as per my understanding.

now i want to know that can't we put these dates manually and not automatically ?

assume that we are not calculating float. then also is it necessary?

If time monitoring is your buisness requiremet, it is neccesary. it requires to see the critical path/activity provided you have to relationship between activities. if all activities are indepedant you go by yours method.

It is not at all mandatory. If you not at all want scheduling remove the scheduling profile and planning methods from the Project profile. If you might need scheduling assign the same as free scheduling in the project profile

Scheduling is very much necessary my friend. Otherwise how does system calculate Float?

You have to carry out scheduling & that's the standard practice.
