What is the best way to move an SAP system from its current partition to another partition that has no SAP systems loaded on it?
Hi Chris,
if it is "ABAP-Only" I always use the following approach:

Volker, yes the systems are ABAP only. We have used your Homogeneous System Copy guide in the past and it is hands down the best guide for doing this. I just wasn't sure if it would work the same, because before we had always used it as a "system refresh" for QAS from PRD. Now that I know that it will do the same thing on a partition with no current SAP system then we should have very little problems. Thanks for the help.
Hi Chris
The best method would be to use homogeneous system copy as per SAP guidelines...
https://service.sap.com/instguides > SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s)>Installation - SAP NetWeaver Systems--> System Copy (assuming you are doing a NW04s copy)
and select the guide you want...
Hope that helps...
Thanks
Abhi
