Problem in connecting to Online Visual Adminstrator

Hi Friends,

I was installed SAP EP 6.0., when i am going to connect online visual Adminstrator it's showing error like " cannot open connection on host: <hostname> and port <portno>". Can any body help me how to connect online visual adminstrator. Is there any default username/password? how to find these details.

Hi,

I guess u r using correct port. You need to use P4 port to connect to Visual Admin

The pre-requisite is your J2ee Engine shud be running.

Hostname: give the hostname correctly. Also check this by 'Ping' at OS level.

Format of P4 port is: 5<instanceNo>04. give the user as j2ee_admin ( all java engines except Portal; for portal default/recommended used id will be Administrator)

Hi,

Visual admin tool will get connected only if the j2ee engine is up.

If you are able to open the config tool then the database connection is ok.

if it is stand-alone java, login with administrator user.

if it is an add-in java login with j2ee_admin user.
