We have just installed an SAP PI 7.1 instance on a host where SolMan 7.0 was already installed.
Now, after the installation of PI, we can only see the PI instances in the sapmmc.
Do we need to set something to see the Solman instances also?
Both have been installed using the same OS user successfully without errors.
OS for both: Windows 2003 R2 Ent x64
DB for both: Oracle 10.2.0.4 Patch 8
Java for both: j2sdk1.4.2_13-x64
Thanks
Hi,
No need to do any thing.
Main reason for not visible in MMC is if your SAP service "SAP<SID>_nr" is not started.
Try to login as solman "sidadm" and try to open MMC it may work for you.

Hi pls try as kishore said & if was not visible pls do the following.
go to start-->run -- sapsartsrv.exe
SID
<IN> instance number
startrprofile
HOSTNAME\SIDADM
PASSWORD
Do the following for ABAP & JAVA instances, hopefully this must recover.
Also request to clarify how many how many oracle listeners are running.
Thanks for your response Kishore. I tried to manually start the services and it gave the Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure
Supposedly, the user was added to the Deny logon as a service policy!
I just removed the user from the policy and it worked pronto!
To remove the policy I did this:
Goto Start > Control Panel > Administrative tools > Local security policy > Security settings > Local policies > User rights assignment > double click Deny logon as as service > Select user and remove
If anyone else ever faces Error 1069, these are the SAP Notes to refer: 13141, 544533 & 82751

Hi Rahul,
Yes, solman instance is visible now.
I have 2 listeners, one each for PI and SM
Infact the listener.ora also had the port wrong...I corrected that too.
At least the instances are visible now. I have not started the solman instance yet since we are in the midst of PI post-inst and hence do not want to load the server.
Right now I am facing a problem of the [Solman OracleServiceSID not starting|;. If you could provide any inputs, it would be great.
Thanks for your response.
