MATMAS05 - description field in many languages

Hi all,

Weu2019re working with MATMAS05 for sending materials from MDM to ECC, we are using the syndicator mapping and the standard interface for SAP. The interface is working almost well; we just have an issue in the u201Cmaterial description fieldu201D because we need to send a description per language. To do it, we split by value the u201Cdescriptionu201D field in the syndicator map and we are mapping this field with the SPRAS field in ECC, the segment for this field is E1MAKTM.

The problem is, the SPRAS field in ECC is waiting for one-letter value to identify the language (I tested this with the transaction we19 in ECC) and the standard split in syndicator sends a two-letter value. For example: MDM sends u201CENu201D and ECC needs u201CEu201D.

The question is how can I send the right value for ECC?

Thks,

Claudia Gómez

Hi Claudia,

If you wish to maintain and syndicate only one character for the language field.

Besides the above mentioned methods, you can also to the following.

- Create the language field in the MDM rep with field width restricted the length 1.

- This will allow MDM to store only the first character for the language value

- And so while syndicating too you can syndicate just the single value.

Hope It Helped

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

Just 1 workaround.

In syndicator, go to Destination Items Tab.

select the SPRAS field from left hand side....... & change its Output Length using Max Item Length property to 1.

So syndicator will send only E

Hi Claudia,

You are correct. SPRAS field will only accept a single character in ECC system.

But your Language (Description) needs to be mapped to SPRAS_ISO, which is a two character text and not SPRAS.Please change your syndicator map accordingly.

Hope ie helps.
