IDOC configuration

Hello,

I need help to create a new interface in SAP server (Version R/3 Release 4.6C) which will aim to send

IDOCs of SAP to an external EDI platform for reception of these IDOCs in SAP outside.

What connections will be needed to set up to ensure the flow of data?

Also, we must receive IDOCs from the same external EDI platform.

what information I need to configure?

Hi,

Depending on your data in SAP you planning on sending, SAP provides standard IDOC structure ( ex, User data USERCLONE5r, Purchasing Sales Order ORDER05 etc). You should be providing this structure to EDI Team to build an interface, so EDI system can read this structure and process accordingly. Same goes to inbound if EDI can produce the same structure, you can process as in Inbound IDoc in SAP.

If you have an XI or Webmethods in your landscape as middleware this process makes a lot easier.
