Some of the Old interfaces in our project are working on Mercator-Tibco combination .
Mercator for mapping and Tibco for Routing .
And now it is decided to replace the Routing part with SAP XI keeping the Mapping Part with Mercator itself .
Can I have any help regarding the actaual approach for the solution to implement ?
HI Prem,
If the business is planning to bring XI for routing, then why dont you use XI for mapping as well.
Instead of including two middlewares, performancewise it always good to have one middleware doing all for you; which XI/PI can brilliantly do.
Before you start working on including XI in your intefaces, you should find the number of interfaces where you want to use XI, their complexity, timeline and make the plan accordingly.

Well the complexity of calling of calling Mercator Maps shall be there which is comparitively less than the complexity in developing Mapping in XI. But this is wont help you much. You end putting in more and more of java code which will increase your maintenance effort.
Comparing to the cost and time approach implementing XI shall become cheaper over a long run. As you have to include cost of two EAI tools.
As you said there is time crunch, I think increase resources can make this transition a cake walk.
Thanks

Hi Agasthuri & pooja ,
Thank you for the response ..
As of now there is no plan for XI mapping to be implemented . Mainly because of the complexity of the maps , cost and time constraints .
No of Interfaces are roughly 55
Planning approximately for 2 months
Most of these interfaces are using EDIFACT and ANSI messages .
and want to know the process of calling the maps from XI and execution on Mercator ...as well as what are steps needs to be done In IR ....the XI version is 3.0 .

Prem

Prem,
>the Mapping Part with Mercator itself
For how long & How many Interfaces
