Hi Experts,
can anyone please tell me, I have to deploy/upload the patch:
SAP GRC Access Control 5.3 .TXT SP04
As I am new to GRC, can somebody please tell me where I upload/deploy this file.
Is it on the server at operating system level, or through the application in the Web Browser ?
Thanks and regards,
Petr.

Hi Sahad,
yes this is correct thank you very much, I will give you points.
But question, when I go on SAP NET and download the latest version of the
SAP GRC Access control 5.3 .TXT
the file which I get is a SAR file, is this correct, I was expecting some kind of txt file ?
Surely I do not upload the SAR file through the web Browser ?
Thank you,
Petr.

Hi Petr,
You have to login to GRC AC Risk analysis and remediation -> Configuration -> Import and upload that text file.
Thank you.

I suspect all patches should be deployed using JSPM (Java Support Package Manager). For AC less than 5.3, it is SDM (Software Deployment Manager).

Hi Petr
What exactly is your requirement? Are you asking about the patch or CC 5.3_messages.txt file?
If you are looking for applying patch then use JSPM and if to upload the text file use it as specified above.

Hi Sahad,
thank you for your answers, I only need to upload the text file:
SAP GRC Access Control 5.3 .TXT
So from your reply I guess I go in Internet Explorer -> Configuration -> Utilities -> Upload ?
Thanks,
Petr.

Hi Petr,
Are you talking about CC 5.3_messages.txt ?. If so in Internet explorer take RAR url and then click Configuration -> Utilities -> import

Hi Petr
The .SAR file have to be extracted with the help of your basis team.
Once you extract you will get the .TXT files which you can upload in RAR.
To extract either contact your basis team or download SAPCAR.exe
then type
SAPCAR -xvf filename.sar
this will help you to extract the files.

HI ,
As sahad said that is the right way to extract the *.SAR files the syntax is given below .
for unix : SAPCAR -xvf /<path>/<filename>
windows : SAPCAR -xvf <volume>:\<path>\<filename>
If you donot specify the path then it would get extracted in the path where you are right now means the same location where you the *.SAR file is present and then you can upload .
Then you can login into RAR portal and then go to configuration tab then click on utilities which would be the last option and then click on import and give the file location.
