how value categories will be useful?

why we need to assaign cost elements to value categories?

how to define value categories ( how to give the nomenclature ....for example)..

Hi Surya

Value categories are mainly useful for reporting purpose. Under each value categories you'll assign (similar in nature) cost elements. You define categories that you want to report. For example Labour, Sub-contracting, overhead, material, Service etc.. can be your value categories & cost elements related to these operations should be assigned to respective value categories.

Value category is used for material split up by valuation type, which will be used for order settlement, because the material value will be picked based on the valuation type.
