Beginner Question -Master Data Loading from R/3 to BW

hai,

I am a beginner please any one can help to clear my doubts

<b>In really time</b>

-Generic Extraction Method(Cross Application) is used to load master data from R/3 to BW is it correct?,

-What other methods used to load Master Data,

-Who will be the responsible to load Master Data,to decide the methods for trasaction data extraction from R/3

and to creat source system.

This was by no means my intention. If the author was rather interested in common data extraction from R/3 (to BI) than MDM integration with BI in data consolidation, he did not select the appropriate forum. If this is the case, the better place to post this question is

Hi Prabhakar,

Within SAP MDM, the general data flow (from an overview perspective) is as follows:

- Loading master data from the connected Master Data Clients (MDC) to the Master Data Server (MDS)= <b>inbound process</b>

- Consolidating master data on the MDS

- Distributing the consolidated data back to the relevant MDCs <b>= outbound process</b>.

This is accompanied by the analytical capabilities (i.e. cross-group reporting) offered through the interaction between SAP MDM and SAP BW.

With regard to responsibilities, SAP MDM provides several roles including the required worksets tailored to the general business needs. When it comes to connecting MDCs and setting up load processes, SAP MDM for example provides the roles of Master <i>Data Administrator</i> (in charge of loading and MDC connection from a more technical/administrative point of view) and <i>Master Data Manager</i> (who has the business expertise on master data).
