Hello All,

In our portal box when I tried to start the gateway using the following command :

D:\usr\sap\EP1\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64>gwrd -force pf=D:\usr\sap\EP1\SYS\profile\EP1_JC01_tdep

It shows the following message :

rslgwr1(21): Searching for overlap point in pre-existing SysLog file...

I also found in dev_rd the following message

Hi,

Did you use cleanipc before?

cleanipc deletes a shared memory segment "SCSA", which contains the current write pointer for the SysLog file. Therefore, during the next restart, a delay of several seconds will take place, and the system will issue the message:

"searching for overlap point in pre-existing syslog file"

Hi,

Can you tell me what command I have to execute for cleanipc , is that

cleanipc <instance_no> remove

1) I also want to know why this kind of error taking place???

2) Do I have to start gateway as user SAPService<sid> , as I am starting it as <sid>adm user ?

We are having same kind of problem in our Development and production box.

Please guide me.
