Hi,

demopj\sapmnt\ST6\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386

is the one you need to uncar both the exe and exedb file for upgrading the kernal.

Hi,

Your kernel directory is
demopj\sapmnt\ST6\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386

copy the kernel directory to some other place

extract the sar-files to a temp directory using SAPCAR -xvf <>.SAR

stop the sap-system and all sap- or db-related services

copy all files to you kernel-directory (
demopj\sapmnt\ST6\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386)

start all services

start sap-system

Hope you got your answer.

Regards,

Partha

Hi,

If your instance is only ABAP engine then follow the process mentioned in earlier posts. But if your instance is having both ABAP+JAVA engine then use JSPM (SAP Recomended).

- copy the kernel directory to run_old

- extract the sar-files to a temp directory

- stop the sap-system and all sap- or db-related services

- copy all files to you kernel-directory

- start all services (when doing this on windows, i use the chance to reboot the server, never hurts )

- start sap-system

I case of problems, simply stop the services again, rename kernel-directory to run_whatever and run_old to run. Then start the services and your system should run again.

Good luck!
