MI 7.1 Post installation Configuration clarifications

Former Member

Hi Experts,

I have installed NW MI 7.1 and created one user with these roles as specified in help.sap.com.

sap_doe_administrator

sap_doe_sync_role

sap_doe_tech_admin

But while trying to login to Data Orchestration Administration and Monitoring portal I am unable to get the Page.

The URL looks this.

http://10.201.52.94:0/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/sdoe_administration?sap-client=000&sap-language=EN

Kindly give some light on this.

Thanks & Regards

Kiran Sathyan

Dear Kiran,

We dont / SAP does not want you to, use client 000. You must create a new client with the required users. The installation guide helps you in the initial post intstallation procedure. The same can be got from:

http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000679686&_OBJECT=011000358700000173532007E

The detailed configuration info is available at:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/44/bc872fc60b7006e10000000a155369/frameset.htm

I advice you to upgrade to the latest SP Level (SP7). The SP7 stack can be downloaded from: http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/sps/index.do?pvnr=01200615320900001488

Please ignore the CE Java components (if you are not having an NWDI Setup), as only the ABAP stack needs to be upgraded. If you are already on SP 7, please implement the compulsory notes according to the SAP Note:

Hi Veera,

Thanks for your reply.

I have applied the support packages and now the level is 7.

But my concern is about the port.

In which port DOE should listen.?

Is "The page cannot be displayed" message because of 000 client?

I am unable to find out it from the manuals.

I guess these are the parameters for specifying the port.

icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=0,TIMEOUT=30,PROCTIMEOUT=60

icm/server_port_1 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=0,TIMEOUT=120,PROCTIMEOUT=120

If you want me to change this..,which port I need to specify?

Thanks & Regards,

Kiran Sathyan.

Dear Kiran,

If you are not going to have any other http service taking your port 80, you can even specify port 80 (I had done it without any issues, or you can specify the general ABAP http port 8000). You can leave the SMTP unconfigured (or put it 1025) if you are not goint to use SMTP.

I will have intermittent connectivity to SDN today. I remember seeing documentation on this. Some of the docs for NWM 7.1 is a bit scattered but you find it all in help.sap.com. Search it if you are not finding direct links

I hope you have gone through the general post installation steps in SAP installation like

sccl - client copy

rz10 - Loading initial instance profiles

stms - Transport Management

Once you are done with config, do SGEN to generate all objects and then go to DB13 and execute "Check and update optimizer statistics"

Please mark the thread as answered if my posts solved your question.

Hi Veera,

Thanks very much for your time and ideas.

I have seen DOE Administration & Monitoring Page for the first time.:)

Performing DOE Initial Setup and Configuration step was showing as already done.

From a BASIS point of view, till what level I need to proceed for further configurations?

All other ABAP post installation activities have been done properly.

Thanks again.

Dear Kiran,

If you are done with all the configuration steps given under AS ABAP 7.1 and Mobile under the SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 help category, then, you have finished all the required configurations. I hope you have applied all the compulsory notes. I advice you to keep checking the composite note time and again for any known / found issue with 7.1 SP 7 and apply the necessary fixes as and when available.

Wish you a great Mobile 7.1 experience.

Regards,

Veera
