TREX index after upgrade to ECC6.0

Hi all,

Currently we are upgrading R/3 from 4.7 to ECC6.0 and we have also SAP CS and TREX 7.0 installed as well.

Upon upgrading sandbox client (which is copied from PRD client) the index category of TREX can not be used anymore (sandbox is pointing to TREX sandbox). So, I was doing the indexing from scratch.

Does anybody know if we should do the same indexing when upgrading the PRD ? I am talking about 290K documents which took 3 days to finish the indexing.This looks scarry as we are trying to minimize PRD downtime during upgrade.

I was searching for related notes, unfortunately there is nothing I can found.

Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Hi,

You need to reindex the documents in production server after upgrade.

The indexing of 290000 documents is one time job later you can set scheduling job for new files.

After upgrading to production server, you can set indexing job running. It need not be completed within the weekend downtime as users can still work in production server when indexing is running.
