Hi All

Normally in SNP PPM we are maintaining the Fixed Duration as 1 in Mode Tab. It will not take in Hours as it is SNP PPM. What is going to be happened if I will maintain the fixed duration of 2 or 3 days in Mode Tab.

Hi Guru,

Lead time is the No of days in which a finished product can be made available at the premises once all its raw materials, intermediates etc., for manufacturing that product are readily available.

In SNP, being rough cut planning, the lead time will be calculated in days and not in hours. For example, in a scenario,

Finished product - TV

Lead time for Component 1 for making TV is 2 days

Lead time for Component 2 for making TV is 3 days

Lead time fo Component 3 for making TV is 5 days

Then the Lead time for TV is 10 days.

Hope it is clear. Please confirm

Fixed duration only controls start & end date of Planed Orders. If you enter 1 day as fixed day system will take 1 day as lead time for that order this time is excluding of GR time.

Hi Guru,

For Planning run or optimiser run, if we keep mode duration as more than 1 day, while calculating the lead time, it will process excess lead times which may or may not be acceptable by end user. But the minimum value to be retained is 1. Value 1 is sap recommended one.

Okay, But what happened if I will run the optmiser or any other planning run by keeping the Mode Duration as 3,,4 any no. of days other than 1 day which we are normally keeping in our Mode Tab.

Hi Guru,

Fixed duration Indicates the duration of the activity, which is independent of the lot size of the material to be produced. Fixed duration is the machine time irrespective of the batch qty. As SNP is focussing towards, rough cut planning it always takes the value as days in fixed duration and it cannot be less than a day. The minimum bucket in which SNP plans is a day. Hence hour value is not supported by SNP PPM.
