PI 7.1 and CE 7.1

Hello all,

Quick question

Is it OK to install both PI 7.1 and CE 7.1 on the same host/box? Or, should these always be separated.

HI,

It is not necessary to install both systems seperately. But because of performance point of view, it is recomended that to use seperate boxes. As, if PI 7.1 and CE 7.1, may use same ESR / SR, and because of that some confusion occurs. So better to use differnet boxes, and then from CE7.1, you can import Service Interfaces from PI7.1 system to CE 7.1 and you can seperately deploy these business processes and debug the scenario.

When the same ESR / SR is being used by both products, can this happen due to the error of the person doing the installation - or - does the install software (sapisnt I think) do this on its own.

This is not an error. If you use PI 7.1 and CE 7.1 it is best practice to share a common ESR.

It is recommended to have it on separate server. But you can have it on same system.
