Hi,
I just want to find out if my understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager is correct :
I have several SAP/Oracle systems (all with different SIDs) running. They are all on various unix platforms like HP-UX & IBM AIX.
Can I install Oracle Enterprise Manager on my Windows PC to connect to each of them and manage them individually? Like monitoring performance and doing the occasional SQL queries?
Do I need to install other modules or just the OEM (GridControl_10.2.0.4_Win32.zip) will do?
Thanks in advance.
You can directly connect from OEM to a database, as far as i know. But if you want to monitor os ressources (say database external stuff), then you would have to install the oracle enterprise agent locally on the servers.
Do not forget to verify, if your database license covers the use OEM.
The official SAP statements can be found in note [355770 - Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control|https://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=355770] and the related notes.
Best regards, Michael
