STO delivery

We have following scenario -

1) There is a material X with unrstrictd stock of 50 pcs.

2) A sales order comes in for 5 pcs. Requested delivery date is tomorrow. Stock is commited to sales order. Schedule line is confirmed.

3) A stock transport order comes in next, for 100 pcs. It is due to be delivered next week. System does availability check. 'Committed date' is shown as later date (as per lead time).

4) When delivery due list runs (VL10B), the Stock transport order is coming up in the list. It is creating delivery, and moreover getting all 50pcs get committed to it, though it is not needed till next week.

5) The sales order gets nothing, though schedule line was confirmed at creation.

Can someone guide what may be wrong, or if there is any oss note etc.

thanks

Dear art,

see in the 1st case ie the sale order is created and the committed qty is 5 but it is not delivered yet so the stock in unrestricted level is 50.

when you do STO the availability check is done and you have 50 qty stock physically so you can deliver upto 50 qty even though your STO requirement is 100 and the lead time give is some other day - ie for the total qty. so system will take the current stock into consideration and delivery the goods for whichever PGI comes first.

Sudhir,

Thanks for your reply. However, this seems to defy the concept of ATP, isnt it? We have promised the quantity to the customer. Now just based on which order is delivered first, if the quantity is getting re-allocated, then something is not correct.

ya that is true, but this also can be made by PP module they can make the material either MTO or MTS. Other than this i dont thing material can be made as a reserve for a sales order once its is commited.
