Notes in GOA

Hi

We are on SRM 5.5 and we need clarification in GOA .

In the item documents tab . We are able to enter "internal note" , "approval note" but it is not getting saved. Whereas the same texts work finr on header level documents tab.

Is there some custimization reqd for this.
