The differences between SAP BI and Business Objects

Former Member

Hello,

I'm planning to select BI infrastructure.

But, I'm not sure which better SAP BI 7.0 or Business Objects (DataIntegrator and Business Objects Enterprise)

I know my choices are

- SAP BI 7.0 only

- SAP BI and Business Objects Enterprise

- Data Integrator and Business Objects Enterprise

The datasources are SAP ERP, Oracle Applications and custom development.

I've already known BI content of SAP BI and Rapid Mart of Business Objects.

Could you let me know the points I should think about.

Thanks,

Koji

Hi Koji,

One thing to consider is the number of different source types. BO supports SAP and all the relational DBs. There is also the fact that BO provides a single front end to different reporting type which makes the user experience much better. Finally, users ability to build there own reports, without a high level of traiining is one of the big selling points for BO.

Here is a good overview of the combination of the 2 , including some roadmap

Hope this helps
