How to install two instance in one machine

Hi Support,

Gud Day for All!

I want to to install another install instance at my running machine OS is RHEL5.0 can anybudy help me that how can i do this ?

Hi,

Can do that by 2 ways.

1. Use the same database binary files and create one more schema for the new installation. It is called MCOD installation. One database and 2 schemas. Problem will be in maintenance and backup.

2. Install database seperatly and use it only for the new installation. It will be normal installation process.

Hi,

you can have the different SID with different instance number while installing.

Hi,

Yes, During the installation it will prompt for the default instance number selected. There we can changed to user defined numbers, if you want to change the instance number.

Start sapinst, choose a different SID and a different system number? Don´t know where your problem is....
