Dear,
My client wants to implement only SNP because of budget constraints.
Is it possible ?
What are the steps that are involved in implementing ?
Regards
Sameep
Assuming that only SNP means without DP. If so yes you can implement only SNP. You have CIF to transfer all the masterdata and transaction data from R/3 to SNP and you can release the forecast demand from BW InfoProvider.

You can do without BW as well.. as long as you have no reporting/backup needs. R/3 can transfer the requirements (independent demand and other demands that make the basis for SNP) to SNP directly via CIF. Even a plain text file can be used to upload demand elements to SNP directly and get going. What's important to note is - to make a distinciton between what is planned in R3 and SNP (for that you have MRP type X0 as a filter) during CIF.

If you do not want to use BW also..yes you can do it..you can CIF Planned Independent Requirements from R/3. For CIF you need to have the Integration models of both master data and transactional data active in R/3. For more info on CIF, please go through the [SDN WIKI|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki].(click on Other Industry>Supply Chain>CIF).then once you have all the masterdata and transactional data into APO you can plan the supply chain using SNP planning algorithms like heuristics, ctm, optimizer..based on your requirement.
Hi Sameep,
Once it is planned in SNP, can it be CIFed once again ?
YES. You can always set the parameters in SPRO> Advanced Planning and Optimization >Supply Chain Planning>Supply Network Planning (SNP)>Basic Settings>Configure Transfer to OLTP Systems
With the above, you can set immediate or periodic transfer. You can also push the orders using tsansaction /sapapo/c5.
The planning in SNP be as planned independent requirements ?
Planned independent requirements or forecast is input to SNP. It takes the requirements and creates receipts as needed.
