Enterprise Service Builder doesn't start

Hello,

after a new SAP PI Installation I tried to start the ESB and getting following error:

Internal error during authentication

Cannot connect to server using message server: ms://<servername>:50000/P4 (SERVER_MS_NOT_AVAILABLE)

(Servername is full qulified domain name)

I searched in this forum and found soloutions like:

- firewall issue

- wrong port or FQDN in exchange profile

but this seem to be correct. Also tested Port 50004 and 8100 without success.

What else could this be?

thx

chris

Which instance number are you logging on to? The correct port number would be 5<instance>00 (so instance number 15 results in port number 51500.

Next, try logging on to http://<servername>:5<instance>00/rep or by entering TS SXMB_IFR from the ABAP stack.

What do you see now?

Hello,

instance is 00 so port is 50000.

SXMB_IFR open my web interface with url:

http://<server>:50000/rep/start/index.jsp

<server> = full qualified name

But I figured out that in SMICM->Goto->Services the hostname is

not given as full qulified domain name. Which entry do I have to change

to fix this?

thanks

Hi,

> Which entry do I have to change to fix this?

As you are on the abap stack it's the profile parameter "saplocalhostfull" (transaction RZ10 -> Extended maintenance).

Hi,

> I thought that was icm/host_name_full?

you are right, but...

if you set SAPLOCALHOSTFULL then icm/host_name_full will get ignored.

Do I have to use http:// as prefix or is it enough to use <host>.<domain> as FQDN?!?

Hi,

without http only <host>.<domain>.

I have set:

SAPLOCALHOSTFULL = myserver.mydomain.com

in the default profile as per http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/48/3c5d3df7e771b9e10000000a421937/frameset.htm and have restarted the SAP system, but when I run SXMB_IFR it still resolves the URL to only the hostname, not the FQDN.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I found that I had to configure some additional properties (in addition to the ones listed in the online help) in the Exchange Profile.

Hi Paul,

Can you please let me know what are all the other additional properties to be set in the exchange profile.

I have already set the icm/host_name_full in the Instance profile with the FQDN.

But, still the error persists.

Thanks in advance.

Search your Exchange Profile for:

value = <hostname>

Then change all relevant entries to their FQDN version.
