Opening of New approval year -investment Mangement(PS)

Dear Friends,

I want to create NEW approval Year in SAP PS. I used IM27 with option

Investment program: Capital

Potion ID: Blank

Approval Year: 2011

Target Invetment Program

Investment program: Capital

Potion ID: Blank

Approval Year: 2012

Copy program structure[ticked]

Copied succesfully

when i go to IM52 of IM22

it displays only the header line without any node

Pls help how toresove the same

Dear Friend I tried the above solution and i am getting following error message

Inv. program CAPITAL/2012 already exists and when i check it displays only the header level and did not display the im nodes

Hi,

IM27 is used to open a new fiscal year for a continuing Inv Prog.

Example : if 2005 was approval yr of an XYZ inv prog, then if some FI postings or settlements or Asset have to be created then the fiscal year should be open for XYZ. And you do that with IM27.

IM28 as suggested by Virendra is used for copying a structure (so that you create already existing master data)

Example : your company had projected investments of 500 USD in this year for some Prog position XYZ, within the IM hierarchy, which was planned and budgeted as well,

But you fell short of time or some other circumstances you were unable to start work.

So you give back the 500 USD back to the management and ask them to defer the project XYZ to next year. Now the hierarchy components were already created for last yr. Here you use IM28 and starrt working (without having to work from scratch)

As for your query. Only header shows when you do the IM27.

I would suggest you see the Txn IM03 and check if assignment lock indicator is active.

Deactivate and you will be able to see the hierarchy copied in new fiscal year.

I am unaware is the business requirement, hence elaborated the points at start.

Thanks for the detailed explnation, but my problem is with IM 27 only the header level is getting created and i checked In IM03 the assignment indicator is not checked but still i am, not able to see the lowerlvel Im nodes.

beacuse of this i am not able to assign projects to IM for 2012

pls guide

Hi,

It seems that when you were doing IM27, the data from year 2011 to year 2012 is not copied as required.

You can check in Tables IMPU whether values are there taking GJAHR as 2012.If there are no entries for 2012 then data was not copied.

Also then check Tabels IMTP and IMPR for GJAHR as 2012.If entry is there only for main header.,

then you can delete the entry.

Then you can again carry on Transaction IM27.
