Hi,

Do you want to call an external web service from your abap system or do you want to answer a web service call from your abap system ?

From your logs, it seems that you want to call the web service on an external server

host: 10.20.232.89, service: 4444

And that the connection fails.

Are the IP and the port right ?

Is there an HTTP server listening to port 4444 ?

Are you able to ping the 10.20.232.89 host from your abap system ?

You can also increase the ICM trace level to 3 to to get more error details

Olivier

Hi Olivier,

I want to ensure that ICF /HTTP services are active and in running state. For that, I am just trying to execute the Client Proxy ZI2_CO_ROI_R3_DFPORT_TYPE.

I followed the below steps:

Logon to Server ECC 5 client 600

1. SE80

2. Edit Object - Enterprise Services

3. Choose radio button client proxy - enter ZI2_CO_ROI_R3_DFPORT_TYPE

4. display

5. press F8

6. press check boxes for a) Initial Complex Elements b) XML Editor c) Extended XML handling

7. Press execute

After this I got the below error,

SRT: Processing error in Internet Communication Framework: ("ICF Error when receiving the response: ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED")</

How to correct this

Thanks,

vishnu

Hi vishnuarigela,

For ICF /HTTP service activation could you plaese check the below URL:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/f3/f8193c99f5a765e10000000a11402f/content.htm

Hi,

So, in fact, it seems that you try to call the SAP abap web service from the SAP abap system.

Your logical port is wrong because you try to connect on port 4444 which is not activated on your ICM.

Hi Olivier,

How do I correct the logical port problem?

Thank you very much.

Hi again,

You have to create a logical port which points towards your own server (host:port).

Hi Olivier,

Thanks a lot for your reply,

By using logical port, do we point to the location where the wsdl is located.

I am unable to ping the ip address, that is in the trace file.

So, can we change the logical port to where the wsdl is actually located? I think this should work.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

vishnu.

Hi,

The logical port is used at runtime to point to the web service provider host.

It is not used to get the wsdl...

Hi Olivier,

I know its been more than an year since the last time I have posted on this thread.

The problem still persists, I have made the necessary changes as you have suggested,

made the necessary changes to the logical port number.

The error has changed to no extended error message (SOAP_ESERVER).

In sm21:

SOAP Runtime: SOAP Runtime exception: 112 occurred in method XP_READ_TAG of class CL_SOAP_XP at position 1

SOAP Runtime: Exception message: no extended error message (SOAP_ESERVER)

dev_rfc:

ERROR 01:01:48: SOAP Application CL_SOAP_APPLICATION_CLIENT

IF_SOAP_APPLICATION_CS~EXECUTE_PROCESSING() A SOAP Runtime Core

Exception occurred in method XP_READ_TAG of class CL_SOAP_XP at

position id 1 with internal error id 112 and error text no

extended error message (SOAP_ESERVER) (fault location is 1 ).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have looked up on sdn, however was

unable to find a solution.

I have opened another thread under Netweaver Administrator with the subject SOAP Exception,

I apologize if it was a mistake.

Regards,

Vishnu.
