How Seeburger split997 adapter is used in EDI scenarios, can any one provide some documentation.

Just to add to what Simran mentioned, the usage of Split module is not limited to AS2 adapter. It could be used for other adapters too.
To explain you more, the client usually sends a message which is called as an EDI interchange. This interchange could have multiple EDI documents, e.g., multiple Orders. Split module splits this EDI Interchange into individual EDI Documents as separate XI message.

Seeburger split997 adapter works when the split module in the AS2 adapter configuration is used for the EDI messages.
The function of Split module in the module chain that for every attachment in the EDI Message an XI Message will be created and placed on a new inbound channel using the Splitter sender Adapter i.e.Split997
