Hello Friends,
We have a problem loading one particular CVC in planning book.
When we tried loading this particular CVC in planning book, we gor an error as "COM - Error unknown".
So we tried checking consistency for the planning book time series, that couldn't resolve the problem. so we deleted this CVC from the planning area and then we recreated the same.
At that moment that error got resolved. But one week after that we got the same problem with another CVC.
It seems this problem is recurring and at a time only one particular CVC is getting these error..
Could anyone please help me resolve this problem.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jacky
Hi jacky,
When creating the CVC are you checking the indicator "Adjust time series" or run the program /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_PLOB_DELTA_SYNC?
Also ask your basis to check the COM build in your system.
Regularly schedule the program /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_PLOB_DELTA_SYNC, consistency checks:/SAPAPO/TS_PSTRU_CONS_CHECK
and /SAPAPO/TS_PSTRU_CONS_CHECK.

Hello All,
Thanks for your replies.
The creation of CVC does not give any errors, and the job to adjust time series is also being properly completed after the CVC creation.
More ever, we are regularly running consistency checks on the time series and live cache , but still the result is the same.
Yes, we have not tried contacting basis people for COM build. We shall do that now.
Anyways can anyone please clarify what exactly is this COM build and how is it done ?
Thank you.
Regards,
Jacky.
Hi,
I am not a basis expert but this is what I know:
APO has two databases live cache and the underlying DB, usually some Oracle or DB2. COM build links the database and the live cache.I think master data is saved to db and the transaction data is stored in livecache. When ever you load a selection, the system links the master data in the underlying db to transaction data in the live cache and displays the data. When it can not connect, it displays a COM error. We run the consistency checks and the system analyzes and repairs any missing links.
Your basis should know better.
Thanks Gurus.
I tried reactivating the planning book and reloading all CVCs again in the planning book, and the error is solved. Still not sure what might be the reason.
Anyways thanks to all for your responses.

Jacky.

Hi Jacky,
If you goto Create characteristic combinations, after selecting your MPOS, then it will show the option of Generate in Background radiobutton, select that. In the same screen itself, you can view the logs.

Hi Jacky,
When you upload CVC, try to carry out in background and study the logs created. This will helps you to trace your unknown error. There could be possibilities of consistency check required at livecache itself. Carry out livecache consistency check and try.
Please confirm.
